For this reason, I use the image of the Marac\u00e1 and, of course, various designs that are common to the various Indigenous peoples, symbolizing and carrying the courage of the cougar, the patience of the turtle, the fluidity of the fish and the strength of the sama\u00fama tree, representing the medicine of the forest. For the Indigenous peoples, the Marac\u00e1 is not only a musical instrument, but a true tool for curing. It has the power to call the enchanted beings to help us in sacred moments and to ward off bad spirits and energies, as a true cleansing. So, for me, a very powerful cosmic universe flows within a Marac\u00e1 and in my work I wanted to represent this universe outside of the Marac\u00e1 in the moment of the ritual. It would be as if the entire world could see.
