During realization of the Mapping Indigenous Rights Abuses in Northeast Brazil project, the new coronavirus pandemic erupted, and violently afflicted the Indigenous peoples with whom the mapping was being conducted. For this reason, the project, reconfigured with the opening of Another Sky exhibition, proposed to both describe the conflicts, imagine alternatives for the recreation of worlds, and document the unequal and disproportional effects of the pandemic among the Indigenous peoples.
We combine here documents and testimonies produced by researchers about the pandemic in the Indigenous territories of living and resistance. These testimonies reflect the specific situations of the moments and contexts in which they were produced. The situation was rapidly transformed by the pandemic. For this reason we sought to document the events, to construct a future memory. For a better understanding, these testimonies should be considered in connection with the conflicts described.
